Changes came into effect on 18 May 2023 and include the following:
The scheme is extended to 31 May 2023. There is an option to further extend the scheme to not later than 31 July 2023 – this would require Ministerial order.
From 1 September 2022, reducing the energy cost threshold for qualification for the scheme from a 50% increase in electricity or natural gas costs to a 30% increase.
Increasing the level of relief from 40% to 50% of eligible costs from 1 March 2023,
The time limit for making claims under the scheme is extended to 31 July 2023.
